Invasion of the Shutter bugs
I am not going to rant and rave today, but it has come to my attention, that I am not alone. Crain's Chicago, a business magazine just wrote an entire article discussing my aggravation on the dying dignity of my photography industry. I am incredibly concerned about the future of the quality of the photography industry. In times like these where money is tight, and magazines are closing left and right, the hacks and butchers are able to benefit by offering cheap unprofessional services. I don't know very many other industries that someone would sacrifice quality because they are tight on cash. I sure wouldn't go to a mechanic to work on my teeth because it is his hobby to floss. Think about it. The Crain's article was very interesting, (http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/mag/article.pl?articleId=31715&seenIt=1 ) and it made me have a flood of many different emotions. I am currently attempting to get new work for myself, and today my new self promos should arrive in the mail. So after reading that article, I am going to work, harder, and more creatively, and hope that the silly click happy people don't ruin my future career.
